PrepandMe reviews every application by a committee of educational experts. Although grades, test scores, extracurricular involvement, effort, and selflessness will be considered, our ideal candidates will have three main similarities in the application: academic potential, the determination and effort to maximize that potential, and significant financial need.
Any student in 7th and 8th grade may apply, but the majority of acceptances into the program will be for 7th graders entering 8th grade as a first-year PrepandMe Scholar.
Our goal is to let students know the status of their application by the first week of May each year.
Our goal is to give equity to students who have the highest academic potential. Each PrepandMe Scholar will have an individualized plan that could include, but is not limited to, a laptop, private academic and test prep tutors, college access advising, mentoring and coaching, as well as financial support for extra-curricular activities.
PrepandMe is designed to help you navigate your educational experience up until you are accepted and enrolled in college. The program starts with your 8th-grade year and guides you all the way through the college application and enrollment process.
No. PrepandMe is a series of one-year programs for up to five years. Unfortunately, there will be students every year who will opt out of the program due to their failure to meet the annual commitment agreement between PrepandMe and its scholars. PrepandMe and programs like it are earned privileges for students who seek support to display their academic ability, integrity, effort, and perseverance.
